There will be only 18 houses total in the community. We are committed to be a GREEN community.
The construction of the house will provide a solid foundation, use adequate materials for insulation and energy efficiency. We will never spare a penny by using cheap materials or unskilled labor. The houses will flaunt the style of traditional haciendas with adobe walls and “tejas” roofing. Notice the use of iron work on the balcony as well as the interior staircase which is shown with the interior renderings.
We will collect rain water and recycle the gray waters for irrigation.
Each family will own 2,120 sq. ft. of land (approx. 5% of an acre) surrounding the house and cylindrical structure in the center.
You can visualize it by drawing an imaginary circle, with a radius of 45 ft., around the 3 houses and dividing this area into three equal slices.
The only barriers that are allowed on the property are for restraint and/or protection of pets, farm animals or children.
- There is a possibility of savings of up to ten thousand dollars if we do not parcel the land. This decision will be voted upon at the end of the subscription period.
- Long term residents-Although we still don’t want speculators to buy a house with the only intention of making a profit, we had to make changes in the ByLaws and allowances in the Operating Agreement of the LLC. These changes make possible that a corporation can purchase a property as an investment, [with certain restrains] and it funds our project without waiting any more.
- Original Members – those that are instrumental in the qualification of the construction loan. They are entitled to privileges similar to what will be offered to Corporate investors.
- Selected Homes – up to four homes that could be reserved until the community is in the construction stage.
These changes will be explained in further detail to those applicants that have already expressed their interest in being part of the Buenavida Intentional Community.
